Design Inspiration: Geometric Dreams

One of the things we’re noticing more and more are the increasing popularity of geometric shapes in home decor. Where this trend really works is when the hard lines of crisp shapes are juxtaposed against rich colors and lush natural elements. Check out some of our favorite uses of hard geometric lines below, as well as some items to help you get the look!

Color Trend: Moody Blues

One of my favorite colors this season is the resurgence of dark and stormy shades of blue. In fact, I just repainted our bedroom with a shade from Sherwin Williams called “Dark Night.”

There’s two moody blues highlighted with Sherwin William’s color trends for 2019 Shapeshifter personality. One is the “Dark Night” shade I chose (an almost-black greenish blue towards the bottom) and the other is one called “Endless Sea.”

Now some people may not be as comfortable putting such a dark and bold color on the walls–and that’s OK! As much as I love these colors, they tend to suck the light out of a room, so you’ll need to plan to only paint the walls of rooms bathed in natural light. If you’re dealing with a smaller space, or lack of sunshine, consider punching up your room with these moody blues on smaller decor items.
